Café Intención for the out-of-home market New specialties with double certification

Hamburg, March 2025 - Café Intención, the pioneering Fairtrade brand from J.J. Darboven, is expanding its range with two exclusive coffee specialties for the food service industry. The high-quality compositions in organic and Fairtrade quality complement the existing portfolio and underline the traditional Hamburg-based company's commitment to sustainable premium coffee products in the out-of-home market.

New premium coffees combine enjoyment with responsibility
The new Café Intención Café Crème Bio Gustoso presents itself as a balanced Arabica-Robusta composition with a particularly strong character profile. "The spicy-chocolaty notes and the fine velvety crema make this coffee a real taste experience," says Simone Müggenburg, Head of Marketing at J.J. Darboven. The 1 kg pack of whole beans is perfectly suited to professional use in the catering trade and is an ideal addition to the existing range.
The second new addition to the range is Café Intención Espresso Bio Fino. The carefully composed Arabica-Robusta blend impresses with its aromatic taste with notes of caramel. "This espresso is a delight on its own and also an excellent choice as a base for creative coffee specialties," emphasizes Simone Müggenburg. "Its versatility makes it particularly interesting for restaurateurs who want to offer their guests high-quality coffee variations."

New product range structure offers clear orientation
Alongside the launch of the two new products, Café Intención is presenting its entire out-of-home portfolio in a new, clear structure with three clearly differentiated lines. Two products, an espresso and a café crème, are assigned to each line:

  • The Bio Gustoso range, certified organic and Fairtrade, is aimed at lovers of full-bodied coffee specialties with its strong, chocolaty character and is sponsored by the Shade Tree Project.
  • With its fruity, aromatic profile, the organic Fino range, certified organic and Fairtrade, appeals particularly to connoisseurs who value fine, nuanced aromas.
  • The Delicioso range, Fairtrade-certified, completes the range with a strong espresso and a fruity café crème for classic coffee enjoyment.

"With the introduction of the two new double-certified products and the clear product range structure, we are responding to the increased demand for high-quality, fairly produced coffees in the out-of-home market," explains Simone Müggenburg. "We are not only offering our partners in the food service industry a greater variety of flavors, but also the opportunity to distinguish themselves with sustainable premium products."

For every pack sold from the Bio Gustoso range (1 kg pack), a tree is planted in Peru or Honduras as part of the shade tree project. Café Intención is thus actively involved in protecting coffee plants from the consequences of climate change - and has already made over 231,547 shade trees possible (as of February 2025).
