Declaration of principle
Respect for human rights and protection of the environment
Declaration of principles on respect for human rights and protection of the environment in accordance with the requirements of the law on corporate due diligence to prevent human rights violations in supply chains (LkSG).
As a company with international business relationships, J.J. Darboven GmbH & Co. KG ("JJD") is aware of its responsibility and is therefore committed to improving the global human rights situation and environmental protection along its supply chains and making its business relationships socially responsible for all parties involved.
With this declaration of principles, we expressly undertake to comply with the conventions listed in the Annex to Section 2 (1), Section 7 (3) sentence 2 of the LkSG and undertake to protect internationally recognized standards. Globalization and technological progress are leading to an ever-increasing integration of international markets, which brings with it both opportunities and challenges. The development of new markets and production sites creates jobs and prosperity in the countries of origin. At the same time, it must be ensured that internationally recognized human rights and environmental protection are respected in the supply chains and that their enforcement is not hindered by a lack of transparency.
JJD is committed to respecting, protecting and upholding the human rights of individuals and the protection of the environment. As a company, we stand by this responsibility. The management of our company is committed to this and ensures that corporate due diligence is observed in the day-to-day business of the individual divisions. Our business partners are required to have an equal claim to human rights and environmental values.
The risk analysis of our globally established business relationships shows that particular attention must be paid to human rights and environmental risks, and when selecting our business partners, we ensure that they comply with all international standards for the protection of human rights and the environment. We review this at regular intervals in order to be able to exclude risks on an ongoing basis.
To identify and effectively eliminate human rights and environmental violations within our supply chain, JJD, in partnership with Deutscher Kaffeeverband e.V. ("DKV") and GRAS Global Risk Assessment Services GmbH ("GRAS"), implements a management process based on a risk analysis procedure and a complaint management system in which measures are taken to identify human rights and environmental violations at an early stage and proactively eliminate them where possible.
For JJD, equal rights for all are a matter of course. We do not accept discrimination against people, be it on the basis of gender, sexual identity, descent, race, language, homeland and origin, faith, religious or political views or disability. We expressly reject any use of physical, sexual and psychological violence and harassment. We reject corruption as well as child labor, forced labor and human trafficking. Our understanding of the protection of human rights also includes paying fair wages, advocating appropriate working conditions locally and preventing the exploitation of children. Our Code of Conduct summarizes our entire value system and provides guidance for every single JJD employee.
JJD stands for compliance with these principles. We communicate our values within the company and to our partners. Our colleagues are encouraged to report conflicts with or suspected violations of our Code of Conduct to management and the HR department. We provide regular training and information to ensure the implementation and integration of our values into our business processes.
