As a machine and plant operator at J.J. Darboven , you will get to know all the production stages of coffee - from roasting and grinding to packaging. You will accompany the entire coffee journey and work with state-of-the-art technology in a traditional family business.

We train this profession both at our Hamburg location and at our second German location in Sauerlach near Munich.

What does the training involve and in which areas will I be employed?

During your training, you will gain an in-depth insight into the processes involved in industrial coffee production. You will get to know our production facilities, understand technical interrelationships and ensure that our specialty coffees are produced to a consistently high quality.

Your learning content at a glance:

Commissioning, operating and monitoring machines and systems
Setting up, maintaining and servicing production machines
Planning and processing production orders
Quality control during the entire production process
Understanding the production chain - from the coffee bean to packaging

What requirements should I have for this apprenticeship?

Do you have at least a good secondary school leaving certificate and an interest in technical processes? Then you already have the best prerequisites. We would also be delighted if you:

work reliably and responsibly,
enjoy practical activities,
enjoy working in a team and want to learn new things.

How long does the training take?

The apprenticeship lasts two years.
If you perform very well at school and in the company, you can shorten the duration:

with an intermediate school leaving certificate by up to 6 months,
by up to 12 months if you have a technical college entrance qualification or A-levels.

What does the dual training system look like?

Training takes place in the dual system - you learn both practically in the company and theoretically at vocational school. Lessons take place at the Walther-Lehmkuhl-Schule in Neumünster in a block model and are based on the school vacation periods.
