In the first three years of the project, H.E.L.P. has already made some great progress. For example, while the average yield per hectare of project participants before the start of the project was significantly below the national average, this has now become above average. H.E.L.P. will continue to support farmers in Honduras and has also set ambitious goals for the next five years.

for the joy of life
Managed by Albert Darboven, the fourth generation, J.J. Darboven has become a flourishing, internationally active hot beverage specialist. As a traditional company with the highest quality standards, we produce coffee, tea, and cocoa with pleasure. The group now has 16 subsidiaries with four roasting houses in ten European countries and around 900 employees worldwide.
As a large European coffee roasting group, we have made it our mission to always be a source of pleasure with the high quality of our products and services. Our motto "For the joy of living" not only shapes our products, but also our actions as a company. It has always been part of our philosophy to give something back to the people at the origin of our products. This is why we have been committed to the " Honduras Education Life Project" (H.E.L.P.) since 2016 with the slogan "Helping people to help themselves" for coffee farmers in the Santa Bárbara region of Honduras. We would like to improve the production, living and educational conditions of small farmers and their families locally to ensure a secure livelihood. Since September 2018, we have also been a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP) for socially just and ecologically sustainable tea trade. If you can also identify with these convictions, you have come to the right place!
We invest in our employees and regard them as the key to our further development in order to operate sustainably and keep up with the times. Both inside and outside of our company, we live our philosophy and want to continue to advance ourselves and J.J. Darboven out of joy in life. Perhaps we will continue the success story of J.J. Darboven together - let's talk about it, preferably over a cup of coffee!
