Bavarian coffee culture
Bavarian coffee culture means first-class quality: from the coffee bean to the roasting. BURKHOF is dedicated to the tradition-steeped art of coffee roasting. Our carefully selected green-coffee varieties are refined in our roasting house in Sauerlach, near Munich, meaning we can guarantee consistently high quality. Here, regional familiarity combines with international origins, thus ensuring the very best flavour.
Coffee enjoyment with good intentions.
There’s a lot of good in Café Intención. The coffee owes its exceptional flavour to the fact that it’s made from the finest coffee beans, roasted in a way to preserve the flavour. Café Intención is also certified with the Fairtrade mark, so consumers can rest assured that they’ve purchased a product that was developed under humane, eco-friendly conditions.
Café Intención especial
coffee with a conscience
In business, "social responsibility" has long been more than just an empty phrase. More and more companies play their part and trade in products that enable them to make the world a fairer place. While everyone is aware of the positive image of the FAIRTRADE Certification Mark, not every product has the right to bear it. The FAIRTRADE Certification Mark is reserved for the products of companies that commit to observing the stringent rules of Fairtrade International.
just my taste!
The name COCAYA is a combination of the words "cocoa" and "Maya" – the Maya being the people who discovered the taste of cocoa in Central America in about AD 300. By the time cocoa beans finally reached Europe, the resulting bitter-tasting drink was already becoming more popular as people added honey or cane sugar. In 17th century Germany, drinking chocolate was only available as a restorative from chemists, but the average German now consumes 10 kg of chocolate a year. It should therefore come as no surprise that chocolate and drinking chocolate have been in demand as part of many trendy drinks for several years now, making them the perfect addition to the range of hot beverages served at any catering establishment.
good things last
"As far as we’re concerned, the best is only just good enough for us" – this is the maxim by which Joseph Eilles lived. In 1873, he established a small, exquisite coffee roastery in Munich and, from then on, made it his life’s work to develop and compose the finest coffee.
In 1987, Albert Darboven simply couldn’t resist a unique opportunity to takeover Munich-based company EILLES. "I’d known EILLES from when I was a child, and when I received an offer from the owner, I was thrilled by the prospect of expanding the company, which still retains a royal touch."
For at home or the café
Tea is a sophisticated drink with almost 5,000 years of history and is one of the world’s most-drunk luxuries. The brand EILLES TEE dates back over 130 years and always sticks to the quality philosophy ‘for the highest demands’.
Intensive high country taste
By ID BLUE a new idea of coffee taste arises. The four unmixed highland coffees of ID BLUE are light to medium roasted and offer an intense taste experience.
They are particularly suitable for the preparation of hand brewed coffee: In combination with press brew of a French press, the porcelain filter or the Bayreuth pot and the right equipment, coffee enjoyment becomes a true experience for the guest.
the coffee that inspires.
Inspiring coffee enjoyment with 100% caffeine and fewer irritants and bittering agents. It all began with a single idea. When J.J.Darboven was established in 1866, young entrepreneur Johann Joachim Darboven became the first to offer roasted coffee in bags and subsequently to dispatch it to the homes of a great many people. In 1915, the IDEE brand was born and, in 1927, was the first-ever brand of coffee to conquer the market on account of its minimal irritants and bittering agents, not to mention great taste.
The coffee flavour
A hit in America and a hot trend over here: flavoured coffees.
This is coffee with that extra something – with the taste of amaretto, vanilla or hazelnut. Coffee shops are increasingly dominating German town centres and directing their concepts to a (not exclusively) young clientele. They offer various hot beverages to take away or as a classic drink-in option – not infrequently enhanced with a trendy flavour.
J.J.Darboven CAFÉ VERDE
exquisite, certified organic coffee
Verde is Spanish for "green". It promises Mediterranean passion and makes it clear that CAFÉ VERDE is the green, organic coffee from J.J.Darboven. After all, green living has taken root; an increasing number of people place great importance on organic farming. With CAFÉ VERDE, J.J.Darboven takes this demand into account – yet another milestone for the company. Only the finest coffee-growing regions offer up the carefully selected beans, which are grown completely free of mineral-rich fertilisers or chemical pesticides. This serves not only to conserve the environment, it also lends CAFÉ VERDE an unmistakably enticing aroma.
simply great coffee
What does great service mean to you? Having a coffee that meets your needs? With J.J.Darboven Classics, we’re sure to have just the right blend. As with all luxury food and drink, the right raw ingredients are essential. Just like wine, the taste of coffee depends on its origin. That’s because different coffees have different levels of acidity and, like wine, coffee needs a certain amount of acid – otherwise it wouldn’t form a mousse on your tongue and taste so exquisite. We therefore take the various consignments we receive from the best countries of origin and transform them into carefully balanced coffee blends, all the while guided by our philosophy: quality.
Personal, individual, successful
Exclusive coffee indulgence to take away in a form that is unavailable in grocery retail – that is our exclusive coffee. Underscore your personal touch and stand out from the competition.
For connoisseurs: coffees with original character
Coffee is a natural product. The variety, climate, soil and location affect the fruit of the coffee bush or tree in the same way as grapes on a vine.
It is only possible for our favourite coffee variety to always taste as good because skilled experts ensure a consistent taste profile time and again thanks to the sophisticated blend of various origins.
Coffee lifestyle from the Austrian speciality roasting house
J. Hornig is one of the best-known coffee roasters in Austria. The Graz-based company unites tradition with modern coffee culture. Since 1912, J. Hornig has been processing nothing but the finest beans from the world’s best production regions in Graz – and it only supplied its coffee to customers in Austria. In 2014, that all changed. Because J.J.Darboven has brought the Styrian speciality roasting house’s premium coffee to Germany – and with it, a slice of contemporary Austrian coffee culture.

An irresistible coffee composition.
Both classical music and the art of coffee roasting have resulted in some unforgettable compositions. The name Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart represents unadulterated enjoyment and temptation. And it’s no different with the coffee which bears his name. Manufactured by the long-standing Austrian company J. Hornig in collaboration with J.J.Darboven, Mozart Kaffee boasts a fascinating, perfect composition of flavour that’s sure to send music enthusiasts and anyone else into raptures.
